Shannon Fair Doula

Birth That Empowers.
Support That Transforms.

About Me

I'm so glad you're here! I'm Shannon, community-based doula, bodyworker, mental health professional, and someone who knows that pregnancy, birth, and postpartum aren't just physical experiences. They're emotional, mental, and often deeply layered journeys.

My work is rooted in the belief that birth is a powerful threshold, one that stirs up excitement, fear, grief, hope, and everything in between. Whether you're navigating past trauma, processing loss, carrying complex feelings about your body, or simply looking for steady, knowledgeable support. I meet you exactly where you are.

As your doula, I offer care that goes beyond holding your hand through contractions (though I'll absolutely do that too). I provide hands-on bodywork, somatic practices, and trauma-informed support that helps you reconnect with your body, understand your options, and move through this journey feeling safe, seen, and empowered.

With a background in trauma work, mental health, and body-based healing, I support every part of your experience—your body, your mind, your story. From preparing your body for birth with myofascial release and mindfulness practices- to navigating postpartum recovery and processing what birth brings up—my care is designed to honor you as a whole person.

I support all types of birth and all birthing people. As a community-based doula, my care is rooted in respect for your choices, your beliefs, and your lived experience. Whether you're planning a home birth, hospital birth, cesarean, VBAC, or navigating grief and loss—I'm here to walk alongside you.

I serve birthing people and families from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences because everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported throughout this journey. My care is inclusive, trauma-informed, and always centered on what matters most to you.

Birth is deeply personal, and every person—regardless of background, gender identity, relationship structure, or life circumstances—deserves care that affirms who they are. My goal is simple: to hold space for you, to support you, and to ensure you feel nurtured, informed, and truly cared for throughout this journey.

This space is more than just a place to learn about my services. It's a resource hub built with you in mind. Throughout the site, you'll find evidence-based information, guided lessons, learning activities, and tools to help you navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with confidence. I've gathered local and national resources, created opportunities for deeper reflection, and designed activities to support your mind, body, and heart along the way.

Whether you're here to learn, prepare, or simply explore what's possible-you're in the right place.

You belong here. I can’t wait to meet you.

My Approach

What sets my care apart is how I blend physical, emotional, and mental support into every part or your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. I don't believe in one size-fits-all birth work. Instead, I combine evidence-based education, hands-on bodywork, and trauma-informed care designed to meet your unique needs. How you feel during this experience matters.

With a deep understanding of how stress, trauma, and lived experiences shape our bodies and minds, I approach each client with curiosity, respect, and cultural humility. Whether you carry past trauma, medical mistrust, or simply want care that truly sees you, I create a space where you feel safe, heard, and in control.

As a bodyworker and somatic practitioner, I bring skills not every doula offers. My work often includes myofascial release, breathwork, movement, and nervous system regulation. All designed to ease tension, support your body's natural abilities, and help you stay grounded and connected. Together, we prepare your body and mind for birth, support healing afterward, and build tools you can carry well beyond our time together.

This is holistic care that holds your whole story, not just your pregnancy. It's support that adapts, respects your traditions and values, and walks beside you through every part of this journey. Because you deserve care that not only sees your strength, but helps you feel it.
